About Me & This Best Man Speech Wedding Blog
October 30, 2009
I'm just a regular guy who went through what you're going through now. This is my best man speech wedding nightmare and what I did about it. It's the reason I wrote this Best Man Speech Wedding Tips Blog.
When first asked to be best man, I was honored and proud but as the wedding day approached I felt a growing anxiety and a cold sweat fear. My greatest fear was giving the best man wedding speech and toast in front of a large audience.
Well this particular wedding was divided into two parts and I don't mean the marriage ceremony and reception. This wedding took place in an old New England country inn. That is, the actually wedding ceremony and a smaller reception of approximately 75 people took place at the inn. There was a much larger reception of several hundred people scheduled to take place at a great hall directly after the country inn event.
Well, it never occurred to me that I would have to give two best man speeches that day! I was so nervous before my country inn wedding speech that I snuck into the men's room to pour a nip of vodka into my orange juice. You see there was no alcohol at this event and although there was a bar at the inn, it hadn't opened yet because it was 10 o'clock in the morning.
Well, the one drink did calm my nerves a bit and I got through the best man speech as best I could. It went OK...at least that's what some folks told me. Anyway, I was relieved to have it over and done with.
I still had many best man duties to perform but at least the tough part, the best man wedding speech was done! I was now relaxed and planned to enjoy the rest of the wedding day as we finished at the country inn and headed to the great hall for the big reception.
For the first half hour I had a wonderful time. My best man speech and toast were behind me so I was relaxed; having a grand old time. Then the MC called out for the best man to give the wedding speech and toast!
I was frozen with fright. I already did that. Why was I being asked to do it again?
Well, yes I had already given a best man wedding speech and toast but that was at the more intimate gathering after the wedding ceremony and smaller reception at the New England country inn. There were now more than 300 new guests at this larger reception and they wanted the best man to give a speech!
And because 75 of the guests had already heard my first best man speech I couldn't just repeat it at the larger reception. I was stuck so I had to think fast as the MC handed me the microphone.
I paused, then turned to the bride and groom and spoke from my heart. I looked back at the audience and continued to tell some heart warming details and stories about the groom and his lovely bride, then finished with a witty but appropriate toast to the happy newlyweds.
Later, several folks patted me on the back for doing a great job but to tell you the truth I wasn't sure if they were sincere or not because I couldn't remember what I said. I don't know how I did it, how I got through that experience. I do know that I wouldn't wish that series of events on anyone.
I have been best man several times since that nerve wracking day and each time it was a breeze compared to my first best man speech wedding experience.
And that is why I wrote this best man speech wedding tips blog. To show men how to avoid my mistakes while revealing the exact steps I took that virtually guaranteed a successful best man wedding speech every time I gave one. Click here to discover the exact guide I used to finally conquer my best man wedding speech jitters.

I'm Charles Rosseel and when first asked to be best man at a huge wedding, I had to write my own best man wedding speech. Good grief, did that speech and all the responsibility give me a difficult time. Fortunately for you I'm writing down my best recommendation so you will have it much easier.
